Paul Singh – Aldermanic Candidate for Vintry
Time for Fresh Leadership
As a business owner in the Ward at 60 Cannon Street, a recent Common Councillor and the City’s former Policy Lead for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), I have spent a considerable amount of time working with and speaking directly to organisations in Vintry Ward and beyond. I am therefore in a great position to understand the Ward’s current needs and eventually lead it into a thriving ecosystem.
My focus
Combining my knowledge, experience and network, I truly believe that I can tackle the real issues affecting you including:

Championing Business and SMEs

Cycling in Balance

Revitalising the City's Global Future

People First: Supporting Vintry’s Workers

Making Vintry a Leading Voice for Safety

Modern Infrastructure for a Modern City
My journey

“Never let those down who have given you a chance. I have never done that and never will.”
– Paul Singh, June 2025 (when he was a bit older… and awake)
My supporters

Paul understands the vital role business education plays, particularly for SME businesses, in shaping a competitive, forward-looking City. We warmly welcomed the City Corporation’s first SME Strategy last year where he played a key driving role, whilst serving as a Common Councillor. He also paved the way for the City of London to host the UK government’s Help to Grow: Management Alumni conference inNovember 2024, which connected growing businesses from across the South East with real-world enterprise in the heart of the Square Mile.
Paul has championed the needs of the City’s diverse business community with clarity and purpose. He combines real-world experience with a strong grasp of the City’s civic and economic landscape. His role in helping bring the LCCI into the City’s SME Strategy was pivotal, a testament to his ability to connect vision with delivery.
Paul brings a rare combination of business acumen, public service and forward-thinking leadership to the table. His ability to engage across sectors and genuinely listen to the needs of professionals working in the Square Mile makes him a standout candidate. We need voices like his shaping the future of the City.
Paul has always been a strong and active supporter of community-based safety initiatives in the City of London. During his time as Policy Lead for SMEs, he worked closely with the Crime Prevention Association to strengthen engagement with the business community and championed our ‘Safer City’ initiative. Paul understands that safety isn’t just a policy, it’s a commitment to people.
I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Paul on initiatives that really matter to entrepreneurs in the City. He’s thoughtful, driven, and deeply committed to helping businesses not just in theory, but in practice. He is someone who genuinely understands the challenges we face & rolls up his sleeves to do something about it.
Paul brings genuine insight, energy, and determination to everything he does. I saw this firsthand during our work together on the City’s SME Strategy, where his leadership helped turn ambition into action. He understands the ecosystem of enterprise and has the rare ability to unite policy with practical impact. A natural advocate for the City’s future.
I’ve come across Paul a few times over the past three years and always appreciated his down-to-earth approach. He clearly knows his roles but doesn’t make a big deal about it which in my view, is the kind of leadership we need more of.
Paul is exactly the kind of leader the City needs right now, pragmatic, principled, and with a deep understanding of both business and public service. His commitment to skills, fairness and collaboration reflects the values that matter to the modern workforce and the organisations that support them.
Paul understands the importance of both family & community, wonderful traits continually displayed throughout the years I have known him. He maintains a balance of approachability & professionalism & is highly regarded by individuals whose opinions I value. He has always been a great support to me & our community, someone who takes responsibilities seriously without taking himself too seriously.
Paul has consistently shown dedication to the values of our Livery – professionalism, integrity, and service. His contributions to the construction industry and the Company have been impressive, and as he steps into the role of Junior Warden next year, I’ve no doubt he will continue to lead by example. He would bring the same energy and thoughtfulness to the role of Alderman.
Working alongside Paul in business has shown me just how deeply he understands the real challenges & opportunities that come with operating in the City especially here in Vintry. His approach is always thoughtful, commercially minded & rooted indelivery. Paul doesn’t just talk about supporting business, he lives it every day, right here in the Ward.
I’ve worked closely with Paul for a decade on various projects. I have seen firsthand his commitment to inclusive business growth, practical leadership & delivering results. He brings energy, empathy & clarity to every project whether supporting SMEs, shaping policy or working at the intersection of business & community.
I pledge to you that:
-
I will drive better engagement between Vintry ward businesses, workers & the City.
-
I will continue to support and shape policies making our ward fit for the future.
-
I will conduct one-to-one meetings on demand & issue quarterly ward updates.
-
I will promote responsible leadership that is always grounded in delivery and not titles.
-
I will serve a full 6-year term and not retire after 2 years. This role deserves long term presence.
